A moving moment of silence was observed prior to the Week 16 fixture between Power Dynamos Football Club (PDFC) and Green Eagles, honouring the memory of fans who tragically lost their lives in an accident following the Week 15 match in Ndola between Power Dynamos and Nkana.

Players and spectators alike stood in solemn respect at Independence Stadium in Choma, reflecting on the loss.

The match between Power Dynamos and Green Eagles ended in a 1-1 draw, with Power Dynamos initially taking the lead in the first half.

Fredrick Mulambia set up a brilliant play, delivering a weighted through ball to Sekanji Siame, who then assisted Brian Masanyinga for a well-executed goal past Green Eagles’ goalkeeper Geoffrey Silavwe.

Despite several opportunities to extend their lead, Power Dynamos could not secure the win.

The game took a turn in the 84th minute when Green Eagles’ substitute Amenu Moro equalised, intensifying the final moments of the match as both teams sought a decisive goal.

Power Dynamos Coach Osward Mutapa expressed disappointment over the missed chances but remained optimistic about his team’s prospects in their upcoming match against Nchanga Rangers in a mid Week fixture to be played at Arthur Davies Stadium.

Power currently holds 29 points, placing them second in the Super League standings, just one point behind leaders ZESCO United. They are tied on points with third placed Kabwe Warriors, though Power has a superior goal difference. Nkana and Red Arrows are close behind, each with 28 points.

Additionally, Power has secured a spot in the ABSA Cup.
